KIDS ON STRIKE
September & October 2019
Photography, Interviews
On September 20th 2019 New York City hosted the largest climate protests in the history of the United States. The young stood up to the old, and for one sunny day, they ruled the city.
In these captures, I searched for contrast between the fragile courage of youth, the concrete resolve of immovable institutions and the unyielding power of nature.
After the protest, I asked 6 young protesters to write down why they marched. For their portraits I asked them to choose a location in NYC that represented their personal connection with nature.
